About the Guild

Student Director
Austin Ferguson, music theory and government/pre-law junior. Austin currently works as a file clerk for a local law firm and as a Community Assistant (RA) at The Castilian. Austin is a traveled performer, having been selected to perform numerous recitals in multiple states. Austin is a student of Baylor University’s carillonneur, Lynnette Geary. He is a member of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America, the continent’s  professional carillonneur group. His plans for the future are law school and working as a professional carillonneur. He encourages everyone to dive deep into the world of carillon!

Jeremy Selvidge is a first-year graduate student in the department of information studies. He came to UT from Texas A&M, where he was very involved with Fish Camp and the school’s Student Senate.

Matt Przekota is a senior, majoring in both vocal and oboe studies (education) in the Butler School of Music; he’s the first person to do so at UT. Raised up in the Windy City, Matt is on UT’s ultimate frisbee team.

Nathan Clement is a doctoral computer science student from Utah. He studied carillon with Don Cook at BYU. Nathan is a TA in the Computer Sciene department; yes, he is pictured hanging off the Great Wall.

Nikki Cardiel is a junior in the College of Natural Sciences; she is studying human development and family studies. She is currently the only female member of the Guild, a fact of which she is rather proud of.

Carlos Rodriguez is a sophomore in the McCombs School of Business. Originally from the Texas Panhandle, Carlos is a new member of the BYX Christian Fraternity. He, like Austin, is an organist when not playing carillon.

Ryan Fan is in the Graduate School, studying Arabic. A native of California, Ryan was the head chimesmaster at Cornell University before he spent time studying in Alexandria, Egypt. He serves as a TA with the Arabic department.

David Williams is a sophomore in the College of Natural Sciences, studying environmenal science. He has served as a lifeguard, and plays the most instruments out of any of the other Guild members.
